Vespertine

Björk made Vespertine to sound like being alone in the house.

She made it after acting in Dancer in the Dark, which she said she wouldn’t do again. Most of it is quiet: Zeena Parkins’s harp, celesta, music boxes, and beats Matmos made from small sounds. She expected people to hear it on computers, and chose instruments that stay clear through small speakers.
