When I was 16 I was in a play that used this song for a pretty good emotional moment between a mother and daughter. No one else in the class really understood what was going on or why this quine was singing about New York but I immediately looked the song up and listened to it. I fuckin love this song. It’s so quiet and tender and Leonard Cohen conveys so much emotion and thought into this letter. I like to think he really is singing to his brother. I think that adds a perfect stab into the gaping wound. Also I hate my brother so I feel him. I don’t like where I’m living but I like this song ONE OF MY FAVOURITES! 😎😎

Lenny writes about things with such a thoughtful and loving passion 😎😎 I like how the song is kind of structured like YOU -> Jesus -> Suzanne (or vice versa. I forget) a very greatly written song 🎶😎😎😎

There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in! I think he was one of our best poets and storytellers. I hope he comes back perhaps as a hummingbird 😎

Me and my girlfriend love this song and we love Leonard Cohen. The thinking man’s thinker! I guess in this song he’s telling us he can be anything for you. I don’t want a lover or boxer or partner or any of that though Leonard I just want some good tunes so thank you for this great one 😎🙏

I love a long song. I can’t remember how long this one even is (it’s long enough to be long) how many more times can I say long? This story is a perfect story I used to listen to this in my old flat alllll the time. I love his voice on this + the story he’s telling. Man come back Lenny! 😎😎😸
