Soundtrack of a solo trip to the alps. Unusual collection of tracks, but it’s what appeared to me at the time. I stayed in a farmhouse and everything smelled like hay. One of my fondest trips.

In a Manner of Speaking

Nouvelle Vague

“Give me the words that tell me nothing” is something that stuck with me on these hikes. I was thinking often about the meaning in the superficial. Growing up there was always something inside me which wanted to reject the mundane and seemingly ‘meaningless’ - but it’s a foolish way to look at the world. All that is superficial serves a purpose. Every action tells a story, even those that on the surface appear to ‘tell you nothing’.

I find the melody to be heart wrenching. It gets under my skin and dances in ways I don’t know how to express with words. It’s like an eager anxiousness. Why? I don’t know. But you need to listen with noise cancelling headphones in a dark room.
