Slowdive

The song speaks to me of those moments when we realize that something is changing and that, no matter how much we want to hold on to it, it will eventually fade away. It could be a relationship, a chapter of our lives, or even a version of ourselves. Musically, everything falls perfectly into place. The guitars carry you away, the bass leads the way, the drums hold everything together, and Rachel’s voice feels like an embrace with your eyes closed. I listen to it, then listen again, and each time it tells me a different version of something quietly fading away. I was lucky enough to see them live at their 2014 reunion show at Village Underground in London! Pure magic.
