Kevin Parker saved the album from a wildfire in Malibu.
In November 2018 he woke to a fire outside the house he was renting, in the middle of making the record. He grabbed his laptop, a hard drive and his 1960s Höfner bass; the house and the rest of his gear burned. The album he saved is about time. Neil Krug shot the cover in Kolmanskop, a Namibian ghost town filling with sand. It entered the US chart at No. 3, his highest yet.
