Whale

This is the second Duval Timothy track I've written about here, and my second post on Rhune. He has made some kind of peace with himself. I can hear it in the music, and I want it for my own. Whale seems simple at first. Then it opens, slowly, into a story you know. Not one you've heard before, exactly. One you lived once, and set down somewhere, and forgot you were carrying.

Duval Timothy has had a hold on me this year. I've been hooked since Pitchfork pointed me to Rain Music, his album with Carlos Niño. This tune is lovely and well worth a listen. It opens with a staccato rhythm, then carries those phrases into a lush middle section. I can't help putting it on during walks around my neighborhood. It's my soundtrack for marveling at the tiniest things.
