'What's in Store' finds me venturing further into modern approaches to Laurel-Canyon folk, weaving between conflict and refuge. These two extremes have been present in my music for a long time, though never this strongly. Convincing myself that "prayers are being answered" as the momentum of the singular acoustic guitar envelopes into a cluster of rich harmony and emotive rhythm. The contrast between the claustrophobic chords and self-soothing lyrics of "it's not tomorrow yet" and "breathe" may put the listener in a hypnotic state.
