Sorry Laid The Hearth
The whole concept for this project is based on Robert Del Tredici’s photojournalism interview book of the same title, which documented how regular people were involved in the production of nuclear weapons. Del Tredici’s work was published in 1987 and unfortunately has only become more relevant, but I genuinely love how Deafheaven was inspired by and built this project based on that work. I like whatever’s happening in the middle (“Three Princes”) and the other songs are really good. I think Sorry Laid The Hearth is my favorite. Highly recommend if you are into black metal and even if not! There’s a first time for everything!
