Sorry Laid The HearthDeafheaven The whole concept for this project is based on Robert Del Tredici’s photojournalism interview book of the same title, which documented how regular people were involved in the production of nuclear weapons. Del Tredici’s work was published in 1987 and unfortunately has only become more relevant, but I genuinely love how Deafheaven was inspired by and built this project based on that work. I like whatever’s happening in the middle (“Three Princes”) and the other songs are really good. I think Sorry Laid The Hearth is my favorite. Highly recommend if you are into black metal and even if not! There’s a first time for everything!

Angel on a SatelliteMagdalena Bay When this album came out I was on twitter often and say a lot of gay people talking about but I don’t trust gay people (joke) so I didn’t listen to it. Earlier this year though my friend played this song and it actually changed my life… this album is sooo good like Wow perfect pop. This song makes me tear up a little. I saw them open for Hayley Williams and then again for a full set at All Things Go DC and I had to pee really bad but I held out to hear this song, til I couldn’t wait any longer and wound up hearing the entire song in an festival bathroom. 10/10 experience, wouldn’t recommend!
