Hi, How Are You

In 1992, Kurt Cobain wore the sleeve’s frog on a T-shirt.

Johnston recorded it alone at home in 1983, on a $59 Sanyo boombox, and copied the cassettes himself. In 1993 the frog from the sleeve was painted on the wall of Sound Exchange, a record shop in Austin. When the building was knocked down in April 2023, the wall was left standing. Since 2018, Austin has marked his birthday, 22 January, as Hi, How Are You Day.
