My god… at the expense of sounding like a boomer… we really live in an honest cultural decline and in my very humble opinion, Hip Hop has suffered the most. I listen to a multitude of genres and for the longest time I’ve been in deep contemplation of why I haven’t been listening to Hip Hop as much as I used to. I found the answer today after listening to this track that came up on shuffle from another track by Badu x Busta. There is just a sonic type of cocaine that isn’t in today’s newest Hip Hop tracks and if there is… I haven’t found it. The cadence, the rhyming sequence especially that little bit where Pete Rock says ‘you’re making me nervous’ right at the beginning, jesus…. Fucking delicious is the best I can muster of an accurate description of how this song makes me feel.
