- lucyAKRIILA My favorite from the whole album. I have cried to this I don’t even know how many times now. I have already memorized the lyrics by heart because of how many times I have listened to it on loop. I think the first time I stumbled upon this track was one Friday of September I lost the train on my way to class, so I just skipped first period and went on a walk around the city. Time when I was also at my absolute lowest, but we’re not going to talk about that right now. The sitar (I’m assuming it’s a sitar, please correct me if I’m wrong, maybe it’s a digitally altered guitar) was such a perfect touch for this track. I would’ve never expected such instrument being in a song. The lyrics, absolutely shattering, I’ve cried and cried and cried. The production of this whole album was perfect in general, literally a 9/10. I could’ve gone to her live performance, but I didn’t, I wish I did, such a regret. “El mundo en mis manos ya no gira más”.
- suave (feat. Jane Remover)AKRIILA Nothing much to say about this song aside from how awesome it is and how much it makes me want to get up and dance. Jane Remover being here like GRAHHHH holy shit, they’re both such queens.
- partedemipartedetiAKRIILA Part of what makes this album so great is the “happy” leads with the bittersweet lyrics. It makes u stop and think whether you feel like dancing or bawling your eyes out (I’ve done both of them multiple times while listening to this). The guitar in this song, the glitching in her voice… wow.
- moriría y moriríaAKRIILA I generally don’t listen to music that’s not in English, when I was young and in school I would never ever listen to Spanish music at all (despite not knowing any English at all). I think that changed once I started getting into Carolina Durante and Los Planetas (I’ll try to review them later). Anywho, I was really excited for Akrilla’s new project and she didn’t miss, at all. This was such a genuine and beautiful album, maybe a couple ehhh tracks but honestly, really fucking goood. The autotune in her voice really gives it something, I know most people aren’t a fan of this but I gen love it when used well, and she did used it perfectly. Beautiful melodies, incredibly beautiful lyrics, I honestly couldn’t be happier with this album. “Bésame despacio, no me sueltes. Te seguiré esperando mientras en mi cama duermes, y te duermes, y te duermes.”
