I always forget this song is about Donald Trump. I think of it like a relationship that’s run out of love. He is pretending not to be himself, and her heart aches because she doesn’t understand why. That could definitely be Trump. This song is soft and beautiful and beautiful and beautiful. 😎

This song genuinely hurts me. When I listen to it I feel this painful ache in my stomach. Like I feel like my life isn’t real or isn’t right or I’m doing something wrong. But then the song fades into its ending and I realise that nothing about that matters. Enjoy life friends 😎

Last November I was on the bus to work. I can’t remember if it was my first day there, maybe my second. I was listening to this song, thinking about my new girlfriend and my new job and the hour long commute to get to the centre. I had time to spare before work opened so I just walked around this new space listening to this song and I felt so happy and so free. Like everything I had ever wanted was finally happening. Girlfriend? Money? That was it, but for me that’s enough. Even if I had no money 😎

Starts off as a sad song, gets happy, and gets sad again. I feel like the overwhelming weight and expectation of life crushes you like boxes and boxes and boxes. You gotta unpack them, take that shit off the cage! 😎

When a musician I love is releasing an album, I usually pick just one single to listen to. This is the one I picked when Dog Eared was releasing and holy shit did it get me hyped. This song is so beautiful and so calm and it reminds me of my lovely beautiful girlfriend and us seeing Billie Marten on our second date ❤️😎

CROWN is so great. Short and sweet. I freakin love the ooooohs and the chorus and also the whole song in general in fact. I imagine this song is about her cat 😎😸

This one reminds me of those long walks I’d take every Thursday after I moved cities. I would have this god awful class and I’d walk around smoke three cigarettes and listen to this album and it was freakin beautiful. I always ran back to mine to pee though 😎

This one is so fuckin beautiful it’s followed me endlessly since it came out. My favourite from the album by far. I remember my first listen I said “she better play this one live” and she did and it was heavenly, thank you Billie Marten it was awesome! 😎

This one is also so beautiful I love it so much. I’m noticing a pattern here. Better than the Shivaree track of the same name? Don’t know. Two great sides to the same coin or some other simile 😎 Always reminds me of walking down from campus, especially at the turn off where you go right past the Indian place. You know the one.

This one took a while to sink in too but I’m glad it clicked. It was probably on those long walks I took at night. The chorus melody is absolutely incredible and lovely and so is the part at the end - “the pavement’s wet, my feet are cold…” also reminds me of my lovely girlfriend ❤️😎

This one is so great as I have said about them all (I’m not good with words). This song genuinely feels like being on a swing (like Sleater-Kinney’s “Rollercoaster” feels like a rollercoaster). You get it? It’s a great song. She made us sing it to her live. I wasn’t opposed! 😎😎

The one that started it all for me. Got it from the radio and liked it enough. Now I like it a lot! A good start to a great discography 😎
