depeche mode meets “clock strikes twelve midnight arrives”, in the best way. love the guitar at the end <333

no longer a guitar band but these beautiful synths make up for it. there is something so bleak about it despite the surreal arrangement that really makes you contemplate everything. slow-build, perfect opener.

straight-away loved the new era of fontaines this single heralded. some fans hate the departure from older records and while i definitely miss their guitar-oriented sound, i love this new direction. that being said i can definitely hear echoes of skinty fia on this, with some darker electronic influences coming to light.

absolutely love the dynamics and tension in this song, might be one of my favourites so far

the start of this song sounds like a phone alarm i used to have and therefore deeply unsettles me
