  1. NànnuflàyTinariwen My small obsession in the last couple months. It evokes in me a dream yet to come true to hang out with Tuaregs somewhere in the desert and play music under a cloudless sky filled with countless stars. I admire the stories behind the songs and the video clip for this one is an absolute masterpiece of storytelling.
  2. Ceiling GazingMark Kozelek & Jimmy LaValle It’s a song I revisit during reflective moments when I miss my family, friends or just people I used to be close once. Somehow, many songs that stuck with me are ones I discovered through visual mediums like Film or TV. I heard Mark Kozelek & Jimmy LaValle’s ‘Ceiling Gazing’ first time in Paolo Sorrentino’s ‘Youth’.
  3. Bright HorsesNick Cave & The Bad Seeds Bright Horses is an absolutely beautiful requiem with choirs of Warren Ellis whose angelic voice elevates it to a cathartic experience. I can’t imagine what Nick Cave was going through while writing it after his son’s death, but hearing this song live was a religious moment.
  4. O ChildrenNick Cave & The Bad Seeds The luring melancholy in Cave’s voice draws one right where he wants them to be. In O Children this voice meets a slow, dragging even, melody taking us directly onto a dystopian train departing to our demise. The most distinct element that suspends the reality and dream-like atmosphere of the song are cymbals stopped before playing out fully leaving us wondering if they even were hit at all. When I heard Nick Cave for the first time in the dancing scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows I didn’t know it will be a life long fascination and inspiration of creative pursuits in my life.
  5. Pieśń PierwszaMiuosh It caught me a bit off guard when the almighty algorithm recommended it to me, but it quickly occurred to be a blessing. The seemingly beautiful song becomes heartbreaking once one knows more about the history of the region they sing about.
  6. It's Been a YearTom Rosenthal I love the melancholy of Tom’s voice and especially in this song. It always puts life in perspective and allows to reflect on my relationships with the most important people around me
  7. CaremondaI TORPEDONI When I hear this song I immediately remember those warm, summer evenings with friends
  8. NantesBeirut A song that was the last drop pushing me to backpacking around Europe when I was 19. It changed my life.
