Kid A

Radiohead released Kid A without a single.

After OK Computer, Thom Yorke couldn’t write songs he liked: “I’d completely had it with melody. I just wanted rhythm.” The band recorded in Paris, Copenhagen and Gloucestershire through 1999 and 2000, with synthesisers, drum machines and the ondes Martenot, and split the results into two albums, Kid A and Amnesiac. They released no videos either, only ten-second clips. It went to No. 1 in America.
