Pink Moon

I have been reading about very early photographers. For a long time, it was a massive struggle to get a coherent photograph. It is so crushing to get a super over or under exposed frame, or a super out of focus one, so decisions were about avoiding that before anything else. The Wikipedia article for the album states, “(Nick) Drake appeared to have made a decision before recording his third album that it would be as plain as possible,” and maybe that’s a worthwhile exercise, to try and make art that is plain. Art that is easy to hear and see.
