A sort of refuge for those once victim to their desires, wanting for love, that turns sour, inverted, ghoulish. The pace tugs you along, a cathartic journey of realisation… this ‘Love’ I wanted was duplicitous and tainted. Oh purify me, of these shared sins, and allow the loosening of its grasp to wash over me in a fury. But it does beg the question, where is the line drawn between passion and violence? I suppose you can only let your blunt intuition guide you to know: when it ain’t quite right.

This track is something special. Our personal favourite, and initial impression of the band, it’s what made us believe they possessed a unique quality that will allow them to acquire vast appeal among those who get it. The lyrics, written in a stream of consciousness, give the track its creative and immersive fluency. It traps you into the artist’s head in the moment that she was a direct conduit for some otherworldly influence. It’s creations like this which tap into your neurons directly, reach in and shift them around to arrangements you’re not used to. How does it not have more streams? Maybe it’s too powerful for now.

There’s unusual, fantastical, unnerving imagery conjured by the lyrics of this track. The chorus is firmly embedded in our heads, while we’re still transported elsewhere by the influence of the rich verses, perhaps, too, somewhere under the sea. So much so that we are compelled to share our love for this track, and entire record, with you.
