  1. Black CoffeeMorgan Powers God this song holds so much beauty. A track that represents relationships growing into a dry, bland state. Just listen.
  2. It's Not The Worst - Lali Puna RemixTwo Lone Swordsmen Not by any stretch a word heavy song, but that’s where it shines - “it’s not the worst I’ve looked, just the most I’ve ever cared” a lyric resonating with however you’d like to interpret it, my take on it is that it embodies those mornings where getting up feels like a chore, your bed feels like it’s swallowing you, but you get up and get along with it anyway.
  3. JacobsonsGilla Band This continuous tempo of electronic hits combined with drunken James Murphy sounding vocals makes for an interesting song, less combination of instruments in this however. A song too that directed a lot of influence for the rest of the record - you can definitely hear plenty of repetitive electronic bashing throughout the album.
  4. PlaceholderGilla Band This songs electro-industrial start straight after The Angelus was intensely satisfying to hear. The repetition of the electronic clashes in the song combined with again another mind-field of lyrics makes for not the most playlist fitting song but that’s common throughout the album and not a bad thing as the album definitley sounds better as a piece instead of picking out the songs.
  5. The AngelusGilla Band A perfect introduction to the lyrical obscurity in this album with Dara Kiely throwing plenty of idioms our way, amongst a build up of atmospheric noise rock starting with the abrasive guitar before drummer Adam Faulkner hops in and out with rapid-paced drumming. The building start to the album setting the tone of what’s to come.
  6. Gagging OrderRadiohead Although I tend to be pulled towards radiohead's electronic sounds and ability to experiment, emotionally nothing comes close in their discography to the stripped-down acoustic tracks that convey the beauty of basic.
  7. PeaceboneAnimal Collective Persistent synth build-up to kick off Strawberry Jam is sensational, certainly give this track a try, and if it’s your cup of tea, the whole album gives a much needed electronic scratch.
