You Miss MeFontaines D.C. Seeing fontaines in Oslo tonight! So excited. Will be at the front so daddy grian can see I have the same Oakley sunglasses as him. Love this song especially, chorus is so beautiful. Starts off so eerie and haunting but chorus transports you into a somewhat of a love song like something off of romance. “I missed you, I guess”
PyroKings of Leon Kings of Leon hold a special place in my heart. Growing up we had the timeless classics on repeat (Use Somebody, Sex on Fire). As I grew up and moved into uni I started to get deeper into their discography, but once I found this song there was no shaking it. Basically single-handedly got me through final year at uni. I was quite disillusioned and this song helped me break that cycle. These types of songs are ones that you can never forget - ones that you associate with a specific time of your life and got you through the tough parts. New album soon, will definitely be giving it a listen!
SeparateJoesef New release from an artist I’ve been listening to for a fair bit now. Really cool vibe to this one, a little different from their previous work but really chilled out vibes. I’d encourage people to check out more of his discography, there’s a really cool sound they’ve been tapping into for quite a while. Another one to thank fifa for lol
Who KnowsDaniel Caesar Beautiful song, beautiful album. Love the lyrics videos for these too, him just driving a truck singing the songs. Bro really is me driving home from work I’m not as big of a Daniel Caesar fan as I would like to be to be honest. His music really does connect but I just haven’t really found myself listening to all his discography. Need to change that “Lately I’ve been thinking bout my precarious future”
Bow DownGeese I throw this song on when my life is in the gutter to fight fire with fire. If I am more insane mentally than my life is then I am winning. The finish to this song is mega. My favourite from getting killed. I was in looooove. I was in looove and now I’m in HELL
Love YourzJ. Cole Went to see this guy live yesterday. Generational talent. Yes I picked a very popular not very underground song today but ts slaps. And live was even better. I feel like it’s a very relatable song for everyone at some point in their life, do you find happiness in a career, fame, popularity or is it all natural. Something that I’ve been going back and forth over for years. My evaluation is life is all about living your own way fellas. See the things you want to see with the people you love. Do things that make you happy, not things that have made other people content. This song embodies that. No such thing as a life that’s better than yours
Banana PancakesJack Johnson I envy Jack Johnson. What a cool bloke. Pretty sick dude and can pick up a guitar and play stuff like this. I remember vividly being introduced to him by my uncle. I must’ve been about 5. This is a song I throw on when I need the world to slow down a little. Things move too fast sometimes, and a little Jack Johnson grounds me and reminds me of who I am and what I want to do. I might just have some banana bloody pancakes for breakfast tomorrow.
KindaloveDijon Felt necessary to cover Dijon for the first time on here. A master at work on this one. The instrumental on this sounds straight from LittleBigPlanet I absolutely love it. So many different sounds all constructed into a beautiful piece of art. A real feel-good love song and gives me faith in romance. How do I achieve this “hop-out-my-seat kindalove” that mr duenas talks about??
Dream policeMk.gee This guy is the fucking shit fellas. Loved his work on the Absolutely album with Dijon but I often feel his solo music gets overlooked. Guy has a way of fascinating you with the guitar. His lyricism is so underrated too. Entire album is a very pleasant listen and this one caps it off beautifully. Can we get another record please mr gee? Please and thankyou
First World WarriorGeese Surprised it took me this long to write about a Geese track on here. We’ll open with the coolest Geese track of all time. I first heard this track driving through the Peak District and I couldn’t stop replaying it. The instrumental to finish is genuinely ethereal The meaning behind the song is incredible. To think they were teenagers producing a piece that can create this kinda feeling. Serious talent “Stay on the other side…”
