Green EyesColdplay I remember when I was very young, IPod touch has just been released and my father asked: “Would you rather an empty IPod touch or a Zune with more than 10,000 songs on it?” I was fascinated with the fact of having access to all that music, so I chose Zune. This album was the first one that caught my attention and this was the first track that I heard of it. Since then,it has found its way back into my life ever since. Relationships, bad days, good days, it returns. Truly a remarkable album.
The Summer EndsAmerican Football The trumpet in this track makes it all feel exactly like the title says. What a nostalgic feeling.
Now That I'm OlderSufjan Stevens I would say that you don’t have to say much, a simple phrase will hit you if you’re open for it. For me, coming from a family of percussionists, lyrics are one of the things that often goes under my radar. The legendary Steward Copeland once said, “music serves different purposes in our lives”, mine was to have a euphoric meaning solely through sound, until I started paying attention. It started with this song. It suddenly hit me, I started paying attention. Ps: I love he went fully Folktronica in this album.
Half RealGeese The closing line: “They may say that our love is half real But that’s only Half True” It’s my favorite line on the whole album. As somebody who lost something for things being at the back of my mind, this song makes perfect sense. That’s how I know Cameron Winter’s writing is thoughtful and experienced. That’s the point about great music. Hear what makes you feel.
Gracias por estarJardín de los mortales Grabado en ‘Monopolio’, estudio fundamental en Trujillo Alto, “Gracias por estar” es el primer sencillo de un esperado EP, “Temporal”, el cual verá la luz después de un receso de dos años de la banda mortal. Reyi y Emma vuelven con un puñado de canciones que cuentan una historia sobre el tiempo y su dualidad, lo cual se ve impregnado en toda la expresión del concepto, una historia percibida sonoramente. Este sencillo, aun que más comercial que sus lanzamientos anteriores, cumple con toda la expresión del ADN de la banda (incluyendo los samples a los cual estamos acostumbrados). El proyecto en su totalidad aún no tiene fecha, solo es cuestión de, adivinaste, tiempo. 🕡🧠
